My music plan updates & photospam! :D

Some updates on my music before i spam those photos. 

I just bought a new set of mic and recording equipment for recording. 

Don't ask me about the ouchy price. Thanks. :p 

I'm not rich and I don't have a singing dream. 

Having set myself upon this decision on the seemingly no-return investment,

I just want to have my own personal project which fully ran by myself and 

ofkox with the valuable and greatly appreciated help from those who care to. :)

These people would include Leonard, M, my powerpsych girls and all my awesome supportive friends who bother to/happen to listen to my covers and give constructive comments. :D:D I'm really grateful for you guys, cos i'm aware that my skills and emotions and what not are not sharpened yet. 

But trust me, I'll not give this up and I'll keep on improving for myself and for those friends who look forward to my covers and hope to see me improve. 

If you ask me, what is the end goal of what you're doing now, 

all I can say now is just purely improvement. No big singing dream even though it's sweet to dream so. 

My plan:

I've actually lined up quite a number of songs to practise for my solo covers and some duet covers. 

Will be familiarizing and practising new songs with the new stuff first before recording for covers now. I guess I've learnt the lesson to not embarrass myself with cui-ness overloaded covers before posting. :/ Haha :p

Imma try video-ing my covers after I've more or less get my voice, techniques and emotions (decently) there. Hmm. Maybe long way to go for now. Hmm. Considering only la.

Finally done updating about my music plans. :)

Whooo. Took 2 nights to upload all these photos cos i had been quite distracted with scouting for new songs to cover. 

Believe it or not, cos i still can't. I had been singing daily and nightly until 4am without fail. 

Screwed up body clock but I'm not working full time this holiday, so dont care lah!

Story of the baby bird that flew away :(

Basically, if you do read my blog, you'd know that a pair of loving olive-backed sunbirds

built a nest just outside in front of my gate.

A super fluffeh bright yellow baby sunbird was born amidst my exams. 

This morning, it learnt how to fly and wasn't found in its nest when i woke up. 

Bro ran out along the corridor, following the faint chirping that has become familiar these few weeks. 

We found it super adorably sitting on my neighbour's window ledge, tweeting helplessly

as if beckoning us to rescue it from unfamiliar place. 

We didn't dare to touch it at first, until my mum came in to act heroine. 

It got so afraid that it flew quite a far distance along the corridor,

crashed into the wall and got stranded at a corner quite unreachable. 

Sho poor thing hor! :'(

So we placed it in a container and was contemplating if we shld keep it as a pet.

It's sho fluffeh I'm gonna dieeeee!!

My mother was pretty insistent about keeping it until in the end i managed to convince her with my LSM1303 knowledge that we should not keep a naturally wild animal under husbandry. 

Another reason for not keeping it:

Its super dedicated parents

The mummy: observed to be responsible of the feeding duty.

The daddy: observed to make loud annoying calls to notify the baby that the mummy is approaching it to feed it. Both of them came at quite a fixed time interval for the feeding.

I also observed that it stands on small-area edges and sticks better than on flat ground.

Mummy sunbird finally found it so it can feed the clumsy baby which still couldn't fly properly without crashing into walls.

Anw i suspect that the baby is a female cos she looks like her mummy. hehe.

It's one cute lump!

I think it was hoping to fly into the wide unlimited sky and it did. :(

Updates on my music :D (and the baby bird)

Ok! No long post today!
Just some updates on my music :)
Stocked up on to-do-songs after much discussion with M!
Can't wait for Monday for the studio prac. :)
Also took up a challenge posed by a guy friend to do a DAMN fking hard song.
Wish me good luck man. Tried it out today and i can hit the pitch. ;) Challenge accepted.

And after listening to so many so many songs today,
i realised the natural airy element in my voice makes my voice sounds weak. BAD!
Sho, i'm gonna cut on the airy-ness and work on bringing up the long-suppressed power level for my upcoming covers.
Pretty excited, cos I've a duet partner who is as keen or even more so than me in doing our own music covers. :D

Eventful first 3 days of freedom :D

Sooooooo, how's everyone!!?!?! :D:D
Most of you are done with exams too I guess.
For me, I've been busy like heavens during my first 3 days of freedom. :D

Got myself a book to read, The Hunger Games, from bee. He bought the entire series and there're already some people queuing behind me for the book. Saw that quite a few of my OG mates are re-picking up reading again this summer too. :) I wonder why, but this holidays just feels like it's gonna be the last most awesome 3-month break I'll ever have for the rest of my life already. Dramatic as it sounds, I really cherish it, starting from  the very first day. :) I hope you enjoy it as much as i have and i will be.

These 3 days are considered eventful cos it feels like I've done so many things! Especially things that I've wanted to do since before the exams, during the semester. So, I dyed my hair and had a haircut and hair treatment at a really cheapo hair salon at JE. Don't ask where and embarrass me thanks. :p Turned out that my hair colour and hair quality are quite awesome now. :D It's painfully short for me now, but I'm hopeful it will regain its length by the time i go Bangkok. I also got to finally change the tattered watch strap for the 21st birthday present from Leo's mummy. You know how important this watch to me as a reminder to have better self discipline in terms of punctuality. Such a joy to have it back on my wrist. Hehe.

Finally gym'ed after 1 month. It wasn't really intensive, but at least i got my ass back to the gym to keep fit and healthy. But, it's such a chore to upkeep the self-discipline and head down to the gym alone. I'm not a solitary person. I need a gym buddy as a motivator to keep me going. Not too sure whether I'm happy or sad, that Leo is now so damn committed to Muaythai that he refuses to head to the gym with me frequently like last summer holidays. Heh. So, any girl out there wants to be my gym buddy (in the west only)?? :)

I also finally got to meet up with some bros (Jon, Chitye, Alex, Desmond) and am meeting more girlfriends and schoolmates in the next few days. I'm especially excited for tmr's ktv session with da Powerpsych girls that I've co-founded (:p) together with Qian, Meijun, Siyi and Shenn. Best group of girlfriends in the NUS psych arena. <3 max!!

Just some updates on my to-do-list in the previous blog post!
I FOUND A PART TIME JOB AS A PSYCH RESEARCH ASSISTANT!! DafuQ!! So awesome!!
Initially I thought that the chance of getting a part-time RA job is extremely slim, but here I am blogging about this fortunate event that has happened to me!! Best of all, the commitment level expected of me is only...........

2 days per week! 

And I get to gain experience with psych coding, do stuff related to offenders and deviants as I am keen in the psych criminology field and work in the same company as Leonard. He didn't get the exact same job as me, but is kinda recruited by the same company for another project. Best of all, my pay is awesome, 80bucks per day!!! Like I said, 2012 is only gonna get better and better and better. :D :D Sorry for boasting so much! Can't contain it, wanna record this beautiful start to my holidays in my little corner here. :3

Finally, before I end off, I'd like to update my supportive friends who've been giving me constructive advice and encouragement on my song covers during the last semester. I'm doing another cover soon, hopefully I can upload it by this weekend!! I'm pretty excited for this upcoming cover as it's sang by my favourite Chinese female singer of all time. Those who know me long enough and well enough should be able to guess. :D Have been listening to her songs almost everytime I listen to my itouch, so I hope I get the emo and flowy feel. Wish me luck in my aim to do this cover with more emotions ok! It's weird that I actually require some courage to start singing with more dramatic emotions on my youtube channel. Will do my best nonetheless. :) Last but not least, I'm FINALLY heading to M's studio this coming Monday for a duet recording. I'm gonna practise every night for it!!! Go Ziwei! :D:D
