Food review
Just a quick review on Sapore Italiano (@ NUS Utown).
I have no idea what came over me ytd that I spent $19.70 on so much food in school. -.-
Leo and I reached school at around 8+pm for late night mugging/project-rushing ytd, on a Sunday night cos we were both lazy pigs as we took afternoon nap. Ok, i have a valid reason alright. Was down with a nasty flu, which i'm still suffering from since 3 days ago. -.- Really hate being sick. My weekend was totally burnt.
Anyway, the restaurant serves beer, cocktail, mocktail, Italian pastas, lasagna, ice cream, desserts and more. The lighting in the dining area is quite dim, but it contributes to the ambience of the restaurant, unlike Bruce cafe and Hwang, which are more of lunch places, as they are brightly lit.

Mushroom soup - $6++
Recommended by the waitress.
Its presentation looks pretty impressive and it's interesting that the soup is served on a plate instead of a bowl, which also means that the serving is quite small. The bread was tasteless and hard.
The soup has very tiny bits of mushrooms and is very thick and rich.
But personally, I prefer the creamy type. And not so pricey type.
Iced Mocha - $4.90++
It first came really bitter, even after I added a packet of sugar.
I immediately feedbacked to them and asked for more creamer to justify the money spent which I could have bought Starbucks coffee with. The waitress was kind enough to bring it back to the kitchen to sweeten it up with extra milk. Quite a big glass of mocha. But I'd say, go for Starbucks if you want coffee.
Should have ordered Ice Chocolate. But, to give it some credit, I did project till 1am in school. so yea, it did its job to keep the sick girl awake for work.
Leonard's Carbonara - $7.90++
Huge serving and very filling. Carbo-loaded. Value for money? Maybe.
The cream sauce was too thick and could afford to be more watery though.
Overall, it tasted a little too dry, but Leo tried to defend them, saying that it's cos of the crowd ytd night that they had to rush and compromise on the food. -.-"' They were a little stingy on the bacon bits actually.
Carbonara Di Mare - $8.90++
My dinner was served with a generous portion of 5-7 juicy shrimps and quite a few fresh chewy squid rings,
topped with a mussel which makes the dish overall satisfactory.
Apparently, the difference of $1++ makes a huge difference between Leo's carbonara and my seafood carbonara. The problem with it is that the cream base is too thick and dry. But I would highly recommend this if you want to dine there. :) Just that it's carbo-heavy. #fats
