There is no ugly woman in this world, only lazy ones. And poor ones.

Anyhow....
I bet you must have heard of the aesthetic clinics, as well as botox and fillers yup?
I never had special interests in plastic surgeries but i was rather curious about the instant effects aesthetic enhancement could do to anyone.

Lucky me was to be invited to
Privé Clinic
"one of the most trusted medical aesthetic clinic in Singapore", for a workshop which aimed to educate us about facial re-contouring, as well as the difference between botox and fillers, lift and volume and achieving the ideal heart-shaped face effect. :)

The venue of the workshop was within the clinic itself, located at
One Raffles Place, #05-04A
I'd say the location is very central and convenient for interested ladies staying at different ends of Singapore. ;)

Yups, it's a Nuffnang bloggers event. ^^

The clinic is pretty cozy and well-decorated with flowers and their beauty products.

The layout of the clinic is also neat and clean, so it gives a very comfy and relaxed atmosphere.

Camwhoring with the bestie, Lianne, who happens to be one of the 2 lucky chosen girls randomly selected among the 20+ attendees to undergo a fully-sponsored facial aesthetic enhancement worth about $5k!!

This is Dr Miranda who conducted the workshop. :)
Confident and has a bubbly personality, I like! :)

Here's a short tutorial for you on what Botox and fillers are~

The Marquardt Beauty Mask:
(credits to goldennumber.net)

The Marquardt Beauty Mask was created and named after Dr Stephen Marquardt who performed cross cultural surveys on beauty and found that all groups had the same perceptions of facial beauty. He (Yes, it's a HE!) discovered that beauty an be defined for both genders and for all races, cultures and eras with the beauty mask which he developed and patented. This mask (seen above) uses the pentagon and decagon as its foundation, which embody phi n all their dimensions.

You can see from the below slide that the Marquardt Beauty Mask is applicable to Asian faces, Caucasian faces and even to the ancient Egyptian faces traced back to 1350 B.C..

Did you know:
The human face conforms most closely to phi proportions when we smile. As such you'll be perceived as more beautiful with a warm smile than a dismayed or snobbish look.
So smile more~ :):):)

A youthful appearance is symbolised by a heart-shaped face which constitutes a v-shaped chin, slim jawline and full, youthful cheeks.

The difference between Botulinum Toxin (Botox) and Fillers:
Botox serves to slim down large jaw, also known as fat cheeks. (like mine)

Whereas, Popular Temporary Fillers add volume to areas such as small, receding chin and flat nose bridge to produce a sharper nose, v-shaped face and fuller cheeks (high cheekbones).
The ideal effect is of course to attain the heart-shaped face, which has optimal volume distribution.

Why else do you think females do not like to disclose their age?
A sign of the Times/growing old is connotative of an inverted heart (as illustrated in the slide below), wide chin lines and sagging contours.

Fillers are commonly done in the midface, which is the most prominent part that people notice at eye level when they first meet you. There are in fact many portions of the midface where fillers can be done: nose bridge, cheek bones, medial cheeks, lower cheeks and nose tip. The other less common parts are hands and earlobes. Actually, I don't really understand why anyone would spent almost $2000 to inject fillers on their hands. Too scrawny? Or too rich? Or sponsored. Hmmm.

Fillers are also commonly done to upper face parts such as the eyebrows and temples and lower face parts like the lip lines, nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth, marionette lines, jaw line and chin.

(Oh gosh, I have never known that beauty and facial contouring can have so much knowledge behind them! #suaku #nowweknow)

So far, we've only covered the front view.

A perfect side profile is said to have a perfect alignment of the forehead, base of nose, mouth and chin.
So, next time you see a pretty girl with nice side profile, remember to notice if she has such an alignment. ;)

Pictures of what fillers can do to your nose!
You can have ang moh nose too! haha.

What is Radiesse?
The highlight of the workshop was the introduction of Radiesse, a long-lasting but not permanent volumizing filler which the body will eventually biodegrade and metabolize through natural processes.

FAQ:
Can Radiesse be felt under the skin?
You may feel firmness at the injection site for a few days. Over time, the material will eventually be completely integrated and cannot be felt anymore.

How long do results of Radiesse last?
Individual results are dependent on factors such as age, skin type, lifestyle and metabolism, as well as area treated. Generally, the effect of Radiesse treatment lasts over a year for most patients.

Is Radiesse treatment painful?
Most patients find treatment relatively painless, but people experience pain differently. It is advisable to discuss the anesthetic options with the doctor to maximize the comfort.

Has Radiesse been properly tested and certified?
Yes, Radiesse has been approved by the leading regulatory authorities world-wide. It was approved by EU Authorities in 2004 (CE Mark) and by US authorities in 2006 (FDA approval).

Are there any side effects?
As with any dermal filler, you may experience some reaction to the injections. There may be mild swelling, pain, itching, bruising or discoloration and sensitivity to pain. This usually disappears after a few days. :)

Alright, I'm done with the narration and info provision!
Here's my favourite section - photos! ;)

Dr Miranda and Dr Karen Soh (head of Prive clinic) summing up the presentation and moving on to
LIVE DEMO!

Can you recognize her?

It's Valerie Lim, Miss Universe Singapore 2011!!
(Credits: dweam.com)

Dr Soh doing facial proportion analyses on Valerie.

And she decided to give Miss Singapore an extra pump on both her cheeks to make her have higher cheek bones.

She never stopped praising how beautiful Valerie is. Of course lah, Miss Singapore leh!

Next step: Demarcating injection points on Valerie's face using a white eyeliner.

Valerie looked nervous while waiting for the syringes to be prepared.
I was very nervous as well sitting in the front row. Hurhur.

First injection: Anesthetic,
which was claimed by Valerie that the pain level was 6-7/10.

Ok confession, I fainted cos of this. :/

Anyway, Valerie mentioned that the pain level of this 2nd injection was only 4/10 and highly tolerable
due to the anesthetic earlier. There was merely a pressure on the cheek during the injection.

I must say Dr Soh is a true professional. She was super careful and tactful with the needles.
And of course, there was no event of 're-poking'. -.-

Can you see the lift in Valerie's left cheek (your right) as compared to the other side?
Instant effect!

Done with 1 side and Valerie actually posed at my camera! ^^

Here's my lucky girlfriend who got 2 fillers on the cheeks and one on her chin. :)
$5000+! Don't play play!

My small-faced bestie, Lianne, has got a pair of rosier cheeks and a really sharp chin for 1 year now!
Jearous!? Not.
In fact, i need botox to slim down my fat jaw line.

2nd lucky girl: Fawn has a higher nose bridge for 1 year too.

Unfair how some pretty girls already have v-shaped face right! ;)

Lucky girls unite!

With beauty blogger Felicia! :)

Same outfit as Fawn!

With Miss Universe Singapore 2011, Valerie
She has a very sexy voice and an extroverted and friendly personality.
See, she's even kind enough to stoop to my height for phototaking when in fact......

...... she is 1 head taller than me. Both of us were wearing flats! :x

Met Joshua Ang, 小孩不笨 actor, now the boss of Reelity TV at the age of 23! :O
It was kinda awkward, cos his girlfriend was beside him and I didn't know until he "reminded" me. Lol.

With cutesie Dr Miranda!

Best girlfriend ever ever! <3

Before I end the post, I'd like to do a special shoutout to Sponsor
for the beautiful Tailored Modern Influence Blazer in White that I wore to the Prive clinic event!

ZiweiSandy's review
I got the M-sized piece as I intended it to be slightly long and oversized so that when paired with Crochet shorts, it gives a semi-formal and sweet look. Besides, I love how the material isn't too thick or heavy to be worn in hot sunny Singapore as it's made of cotton polyester blend and smooth satin lining, making it lightweight and comfortable. Don't worry, it does keep you warm too, just pull down the sleeves. :p Anyway, I also like how shoulder padding doesn't come across too strongly. It's a perfect edgy piece that you gotta have in your wardrobe to mix and match with different tops and bottoms, for different occasions! :) For such a beautiful piece, it's very reasonably priced at S$35 only!
Even Miss Singapore 2011 complimented it! Aww..

I'm also greatly impressed by the efficient and receptive service provided by the owners of FOX-OUT.
The blazer was mailed out the very next day morning. I could tell that the owners are really very passionate and sincere about their business when they make the effort to check if the blazer is of the right size for me. The navigation layout of their website is very tidy with clear order and payment instructions. They even have a live chat function on the website for troubled shoppers to clarify their doubts instantly while shopping.
Best customer service! BEST!

Can't help it when I see a full length mirror in the girls toilet. :p

Wore it for my most recent photoshoot cos it's that lovely. ^^

Do head over and take your pick now! :)
They've just launched their newest collection! Go take part in their fb giveaway contest too!!
