Without further ado, let me bring you through the process of Leonard's treatment and we've made a before-after comparison for your benefit. :)
These horrible acne condition came about at the start of this year when he joined Muay Thai.
The nature of the sports requires Leo to bring up the boxing gloves to both sides of his face time and again.
As such, we suspect that the pimple outbreak and inflammation arose from the germs and bacteria from the sweaty boxing gloves.
Be warned that there'll be a number of explicit photos on the whiteheads and facial procedures. ;p

Before the facial session could start
proper, there was a short consultation session where the specialists could
assess the condition of my skin as well as some background details to determine
the treatment best applicable to me.
The specialists were very polite and friendly and made me feel at home there. The check was very thorough, where they took note of every important detail, such as diet, current medication and whether I was active in any sports activities. Due to me currently undergoing acne medication from a doctor, they decided that it was safer that I don't take the IPL treatment to prevent complications with the medicine. However, they were more than pleased to help me cleanse my pores and do some basic facial treatments and the facial began!!
Pleasantly welcomed by a cozy spa room filled with sakura wall deco.
And it's not surprising that you see the photos below. LOL.

Geared up for the facial!
Step 1: Use of a cleanser to remove dust
and dirt from the surface of the skin. Nothing special yet I guess, just your
average everyday cleanser.
Step 2: Removal of whiteheads. A device
called a sonic cleanser was used to remove the easier-to-remove whiteheads.

The more stubborn deeply-embedded whiteheads had to be removed using a needle. This step was one of the most painful experiences in my life (no exaggeration)… The specialist combed every inch of my face to remove all the whiteheads and there were seriously a lot!! Was so thankful when it was over…
The redness that I sustained was horrendous.Well, i guess it's part and parcel of having a facial.
I'm sorry about the frown, but you can't possibly expect me to smile at the camera after going through the pain on my face that is equivalent to the pain of labour. Ok exaggeration.
BUT, you can ask Ziwei about the groans and jerky reflexes induced from the blackhead/whitehead removal. I've learnt my lesson about the importance of monthly facial, especially for sensitive skin.
Step 3: An electrical device (dunno the
name) was used, as the specialist explained, to reduce the redness and swelling
that results from removal of whiteheads. The device applies a small electrical
charge to the surface of the skin and a mild prickling sensation was felt
(it was nothing compared to the pain during whitehead removal)
The cold effect was a welcoming feeling to my skin after step 2.
(see how pain it was? I’m still bitching about it, but it’s a necessary evil tho.)

Well, my advice to you is, go for facial every month, even for guys!
Step 4: Ultrasound machine + vitamin C gel. The ultrasound machine was to help the vitamins to seep into the skin and the machine was set at a temperature of -0.5 degrees!!
Looks like i enjoyed this as well.
Step 5: Charcoal Mask + Massage. I think a
charcoal mask is meant to clean and shrink pores right? (not a beauty expert
here…) The massage was really comfortable and I nearly dozed off during this
step.
The net is put on my face before the charcoal mask so that the removal of the mask will be easier.

Step 6: The whole facial process ended off
with application of sunblock. I learnt that sunblock is really important,
especially in Singapore’s hot weather. Proper facial care sunblock helps reduce
oily-ness of the face due to the heat and thus decreases the developing of
pimples.
Overall I was super pleased with the facial
and the service from the staff at Glomax Aesthetics. They really aimed to make
me feel at ease throughout the whole process and were also super enthusiastic in
helping me improve my complexion, constantly giving me tips to improve my
complexion.
Yups, apologies for the bloody scene earlier in the post. :p
Aross 3-4 weeks, Leonard's acne condition has improved tremendously.
The pigmentation has faded a few shades lighter and the texture of the face is smoother and less bumpy.
In fact, the results was visible in just 1+ week!
Le boyfee will continue with his medication to stabilize his condition before returning to Glomax Aesthetics for follow up check-up and IPL treatment to remove his scars! :) Happy boy = happy me. Can finally kiss his cheeks without getting anxious about getting pimples on my lips. :p
